The Tobin School

Robin Gossels Named Program Director of The Tobin School

Robin joined the Tobin Children’s School faculty at our PS/PreK Coordinator in October in 2018. She served as a Lead Teacher in Preschool 1 classroom before moving to co-Lead in the PreK 1 classroom in July of 2019. In her PS/PreK Coordinator role she has provided professional development for staff, assisted with faculty observations and coaching, and has been working on a new faculty observation/assessment system we hope to unveil in the future here at Tobin.

Robin began her formal career in the field of early education in 1999 as a multiage (6-9 years) teacher in a public school Montessori program. From that position she worked as a Title One teacher for literacy and math. Robin also has experience as a preschool teacher, private tutor, mentor, workshop facilitator, and program coordinator. Robin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of MA-Amherst, a Masters in Early Education from Lesley University, and a Post Masters Certificate from University of MA-Boston in Advanced Child Development, Research, Policy and Leadership. Robin has a particular interest in numeracy development and has provided parent and educator professional development on this topic throughout the northeast.

Robin balances her early education work with public service work as an EMT with the Holliston Fire Department. She is also the mother of two grown daughters. Robin enjoys supporting others in their personal and professional growth and values sharing knowledge among early childhood educators.
