The Tobin School

Upcoming Spring Field Trip Fun

Spring is our favorite time for field trips at The Tobin School – and we have three planned in May to get all our students out and actively learning:
  • Drumlin Farm: On May 10, our Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students will be visiting Drumlin Farm in Lincoln, MA, for a docent-led program on Animal Homes and Habitats. This wonderful, active farm operated by MA Audubon Society is a wonderful chance to see a wide variety of animals and the places they call home to compare and contrast.
  • Southwick’s Zoo: On May 16, all our students are headed on an All-School field trip to Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, MA. This is the largest zoo in Massachusetts and is a perfect day trip for us. In addition to seeing all the animals and having a picnic lunch, we will also get to ride the new Southwick’s Zoo train!
  • Drumlin Farm: And finally, on May 23, our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students will take their own visit to Drumlin Farm to learn about ‘Life on the Farm’. We’ll visit with the chickens, sheep, goats, cows, pigs, and horses and take a look at their vegetable garden. And, of course, we’ll make time for a hayride around the farm!
Hoping for good weather for all these trips!
