The faculty of the Tobin Children's
School are dedicated, responsible early childhood professionals
committed to the exceptional care and development of young children.
All teachers are certified in First
Aid and CPR. In addition a minimum twenty hours of professional
development per year are required in areas such as: behavior management,
effective room arrangement, providing developmentally appropriate
curriculum, designing and implementing appropriate and understandable
holiday celebrations for children, enhancing pre reading and pre
writing opportunities, and identifying children with special needs.
The schools contract with and
utilize the expertise of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Health
Consultant and an Educational Consultant.
The Social Worker consults on and
works with children, teachers and families with regard to behavioral,
social or emotional issues that are present at home or in the classroom.
The Health Consultant is employed
to professionally monitor children's medical records, teacher medical
records and to help enforce and reinforce the schools health care policy.
On occasion, if indicated, the Health Consultant will assist the Program
Director in obtaining medical information needed for enrollment or
monitoring exclusion policy and procedures. The Health Consultant also
implements procedures for the collection of Board of Health yearly
immunization survey.
The Educational Consultant is
contracted to help evaluate and promote the continued success of the
classroom teachers and developmentally appropriate curriculum. This
consultant is available to meet with Program Directors and individual
teachers on a continuing basis.
